Dear Sir,
As requested I send you a report of the time we arrived and anchored in the Quarantine ground, Hong Kong. We passed Gap Rock at 3.45 a.m. on the 26th April, but at that time the weather was very thick and possibly they may not have seen our night signal, but I know it was answered before 5 a.m. having seen the blue light myself. We anchored in the Quarantine ground at 7.25 a.m. and the Medical Officer arrived alongside at 8.35 a.m. and placed the ship in quarantine, allowing the passengers to land if they wished to.
A sick fireman was landed in ship's boat, and boat returned. At 5.40 p.m. the Medical Officer came on board again and granted pratique, giving us only an hour of daylight to bring the ship to the wharf.
